Together, we rise.

Welcome to On SquadRace, where running becomes the ultimate team sport. Where collective goals meet personal performance. Where speed, strategy, and performance mix in an action-packed competition. Every runner, every step and every second counts. Let’s go!

Together we rise. When we say this, we mean every word. So for every runner that took part in the On SquadRace, we’ll make a financial donation to give back to those who need our help most. We will donate 5 CHF per SquadRace Europe participant.

1602 participants took part in the On SquadRace! We will donate 8010 CHF to our Right to Run partners.

this was The challenge

Register your squad, then rack up as many kilometers as possible during the training phase. On race day, it’s all about running your 5 km as fast as you can and showing up with as many teammates as possible. Your team’s final time is the average time it takes your entire team to run minus the average number of kilometers run during training (1 second per kilometer) and minus 1 second for each teammate who takes part on race day.

WHO
You and your squad. You must have at least seven runners on the race day. There’s no maximum limit, but at least 30% must be female.

WHEN
Training phase starts on August 22 and ends on September 9 (5.59PM CEST).
Race day is from September 9, 6PM CEST until September 10, 9PM CEST! You can go to a live event or participate virtually.

WHERE
We’ll have physical events in Berlin, London, Paris, Vienna, Amsterdam, Oslo, Barcelona, and Zurich. Or you can join virtually by hosting your own race! Just make sure it’s not downhill (nobody likes cheaters).

This where The Rules

(Click for more info)

EVERY KILOMETER COUNTS
It’s not just about speed. Stamina matters too.
Run as many kilometers as possible during the training phase to put your team in the best starting position for race day. The higher your squad’s average kilometer total, the more time we’ll take off your final time (1 second per average kilometer).

EVERY RUNNER COUNTS
Your squad must be at least 30% female and contain at least seven runners. Other than this, feel free to build your squad as large as you want. We’ll take 1 second off your final time for every runner who joins you on race day.

GO ALL OUT
It’s race day! Each squad member runs 5 km as fast as possible. It’s not about the individual, it’s about your squad’s average time. So, you’ll start and finish as a team.

LOWEST AVERAGE TEAM TIME WINS
Your final team time is the average time your team spends running, minus 1 second for the average number of kilometers your team runs in the training phase and minus 1 second for every team member who takes part on race day (up to the 100th runner).

COUNTRY. CONTINENT. CHAMP.
Teams that win their country’s event and the remaining fastest times (until we have 32 teams) qualify for the European Finals tournament.

How big should my squad be?
Any squad must have at least seven runners. There is no maximum limit on your squad size (although you'll only accumulate seconds for your first 100 runners on race day). All squads must be at least 30% female.

When can I register?
Registration runs from August 15 until September 9 (5.59PM).

When does the training period (counting kilometres) start?
Training runs from August 22 – September 9.

Where can I run?
We'll have physical events in Berlin, London, Paris, Vienna, Amsterdam, Oslo, Barcelona, and Zurich. You can also join virtually by hosting your own race!

How do I record a run?
Track your runs with any tracking app, then — once the race is live and your squad log-in page is active — simply enter your time and distance. Upload a screenshot or link to your activity as proof. For Berlin, Vienna, and London events, we'll provide time tracking with your personal bib. You will receive the bib at the event location.

How do squads accumulate time?
Your overall team time accumulates from:

• The average 5k speed of all your squad members on race day
• Minus the total average km run per squad member during the training phase (1 sec reduction per average km)
• Minus the size of your squad (up to your 100th runner) on race day (1 sec reduction per race participant)

How can I track my squad's performance?
You can visit the live On SquadRace scorecard to see where you stand and what you need to do to overtake your rivals.

What prizes are available?

Live event prizes:

The top three runners with the fastest 5k's per live event:
• First place: Shoe of choice
• Second place: Performance-T
• Third place: Performance Socks

The winner squad per live event takes the SquadRace trophy home.

Overall country prizes:

The top three runners with the fastest 5k’s (on race day) per country overall:
• First place: Shoe of choice
• Second place: Performance-T
• Third place: Performance Socks

The top three squads with the fastest overall average team times per country:
• First place: Shoe of choice per team member
• Second place: Performance-T per team member
• Third place: Performance Socks per team member

Who makes it to the finals?
The winners of each country and the fastest teams will be added to the European finals until 32 teams have qualified.
